That is what I am going to do. I will be thinking about all the past contributions and how they liberated countries and cities in the South Pacific from the Japanese Army.
Long Live the Watch.
I have my poppy pined to my Black Watch kilt right now. I will be wearing my Mackenzie (to the stripe) kilt with a poppy to a few rememberance day services this Thursday.

One more thing, I have alot of friends In Iraq now and Myself was recalled for 2 years durring the start of Enduring freedom all the way through Iraqi Freedom. 1st Sgt Farr also has distinct advantages when it comes to bringing things home from a war area. you are allotted a small amount of space when it comes to what you can and can't tote around and or shove in your pack and send home. I know plenty of people who trashed some nice things because they could not send them home pack them up or could not arfford to carry the extra 2 lbs of stuff.
Just something to think about when it come to send stuff to the military folks in Iraq or anywhere deployed for that matter.

Black Watch in Iraq
There is a very moving photo on the the BBC and the Scotsman's web site this morning of a Piper playing for the three Black Watch "Jocks" killed in Iraq last week -- I've posted it in the random pics gallery -- he's not in a kilt, but he does have his glengarry on.

kilt...
Maybe we should get him a cammo Kilt.
He doesn't need one...he has a Royal Stewart tartan kilt...that is what Black Watch Pipers wear! Besides, the camoflague wouldn't match -- that is British DPM Desert material.
Last time kilts were worn in combat in the British Army was in 1940, with a few exceptions, of course...
Cheers,
T.

Thanks Todd !.. but then here we have a US Marine who got his first Kilt from Amerikilt. I am sure we can find a cammo to match the Brits and although it would not be "Traditional" this guy from the Fife District would not be insulted I am sure. Only encouraged.

I'll bet you can get bolts of British Desert DPM from various sources, and some of the fine kiltmakers here can work with just about anything they can get their hands on.
