My first boxpleated kilt!
I finally took the plunge.
When I first joined this forum years ago one of the many new things to me was Matt Newsome's 4-yard boxpleated kilts. I thought they looked cool but I was never inspired to get one.
Another thing I'd not seen was a certain beautiful Lochcarron tartan, Old Stewart in Weathered Colours, heavyweight with a large sett size. Looking into it I found that it had been discontinued for some time.
Recently these two things intersected. I got in on a group bespoke order, a reweave of that Old Stewart Weathered I'd wanted. (I ordered six yards which I consider ideal.)
Then out at a local Highland Games recently I saw a guy wearing a really nice boxpleated kilt. I inquired about it and discovered it had been made by a local maker. That was that, it was meant to be.
The kilt arrived yesterday and I'm very pleased with the result.
