This lovely display features berries from the Rowan tree, the clan tree. It was arranged by Chief’s Robin lady friend Trish for the AGM that was to gather in the afternoon.

We found a number of famous Malcolms at rest or memorialized here. The Clan Society has a genealogy chart of the Malcolm family which you can see here.

















We left the church and walked to the adjacent ruined Poltalloch House.

From the church it was only a short walk to the ruined Poltalloch House.


Ghastly, yet the echo of former eloquence shrouded the ruins.

Bales of hay had been placed in front of the entrance. Chris believed to deter the likes of us. I sure he is right, but it didn’t.

Chris thought it was stags on each side.


We walk to the side of the mansion.

I wondered what this had been? A garden? A lawn bowl area? What?

A dead tree which had grown through the window.


You could see trees inside the mansion.
