migrating/moving... so long,Texas; haloo, D.C.
Well,
I've done it. (ULP.) The house is for sale. My boss has my resignation. I'm cashing in my retirement and paying off all my debts.... and doing THREE things I swore I'd NEVER do....
moving before lining up a new job,
moving to D.C.,
and moving for a relationship!
Sooooo.... you D.C. / Maryland types had better batten down the hatches; I'm heading your way in a month or so. Feel free to PM or email me and let me know where all the cool folks hang out!
As for the rest of it... (takes deep breath and begins to flap furiously).... "O God, I've jumped. Please, help me sprout feathers before the ground and I get all too familiar!"
Peace and panic attacks,
Scotty

Scotty,
Sorry to see you leave the west, but for a relationship??? What a brave soul, and I do wish you well in all that you do.
Good Luck in all the endeavors that await you at this moment. May look you up if I ever go visit my cousin in DC.

Ah....very brave man. Takes a lot of guts to do that so you have to be commended for it. I moved to NYC on my own in 1998 when I was 23 (and against my parents wishes) to take a job up here and 8 years later I don't regret the decision. Sometimes you need to shake things up in your life to get where you need to be.

Being in the Virginia burbs of DC, let me say welcome to our little part of the world. It's a great place to be, so PM us all when you're here.

Sorry, I can't help you out there. It's been a long time since I was ever accused of being cool (if ever). The coolest thing I do is wear a kilt at times.

ONLY! That's too funny. I'm in the middle of Texas right now... I drive 3 or 4 hrs to go ANYwhere!
Thanks for the welcome, all. I should be there as soon as house sale is rounded up... about a month. Change happens so slowly, then all of a sudden, I haven't enough time!
