Aye Mr. Bill,
Twas a temptation to go regimental, but sharing a boat with 60 other folks, including kids, and being on the Utah side of the line...hey...
Up on the top deck there were some wild swirls of wind. One lady standing near us had on a mumu and the wind was getting under it and threatening to lift it right off her. She clamped the bottom hem between her calves and the air still got up the mumu and billowed it out. It was one of those swirls that got my kilt and showed off my tartan boxers.
Its been a good snow melt this year and the runoff is continuing to fill Lake Powell. Water level is up to only 85 feet below full pool now. Of course that extra 85 feet, if it were there, would take the boat nearly to Rainbow Bridge like it used to be.
The place is misnamed "Lake" since its actually a reservoir....expected to fluctuate in levels according to the annual runoff up river and the needs of Los Angeles.
