    I dunno Robin. Hot crowded pubs might be a good environment for a lighter weight kilt. (Says the man standing in the pub holding a thick wool overcoat that hangs to the calf.)

    Regardless I'm bringing mine for a multiple XMarks kilt photo op.

    The weather will be no problem for "The Norway Three"

    This is Freelander, Packing 4 kilts,PC, and between 9-11 Sporrans....Plus other diverse kilt stuff...

    PS. I hope my bag will be lighter going home..I do I really do......Having said that .I look forwards to Shopping....It's that Female gene.....Sorry

    True, and from experience there is no great distance between pubs in Dumfries, so weight of kilt should be of little concern.

    No need to appologise. I have no ambitions as to travelling light on return. I have ordered glass ware from Robertson, a trip to Anderson and Argos, as well as a set of Kilberry bagpipes waiting for me at Ferintosh...

    For formal dress pick the most colorful. You want to stand out. It's what being a peacock is all about. The Caledonia is a good option. I don't know what the others look like. Save the subdued colors for everyday when you may not want to look so flashy. Also, the heavier fabric will look better and move better.
