Rocky, I was getting very excited (No, not in THAT way!!) by your new tweed kilts and jackets.................. until, that is, RonStew asked his question! I had not realised that these were being made for you over here in the UK. There is little point in my ordering something from you that is made here, shipped to you in the USA and then shipped by you back to me in the UK - that cannot make economic sense!

    Hamish,

You'd thinkk so, but I cannot tell you how often I get orders at the museum for things as simple as tartan sashes, or a tartan neck tie, and the delivery address is in Oxford, or York, or Surrey. I mean, I didn't think our prices on tartan goods are *that* much less expensive than typical British prices!

I just shrug my shoulders, pack it, and put it in the post.

    Ham...

I echo Matt's sentiments... We get orders for lots of things from the UK and we just ship them out without asking questions. I COULD potentially have the Gasgow jacket maker drop-ship the jacket to you (if you ordered one), but I'd rather have it IN HAND and double check the order to make sure it was correct before I sent it. Also, we usually have 5 or 6 jackets (and other accessoires) coming at once, so it's not bother to add another one more jacket to the box.

Don't worry... you don't bear the brunt of any extra charges. I AM glad to get your heart rate up a bit with the new line though!

    Rocky:

By way of clarification: looking over the new additions, is the rush option available for the solid (PV) semitraditionals? I'm THRILLED with the new additions to the line. Sigh, so many kilts, so little money . . .

not really... We don't have the solids on hand yet. We're waiting for the first person to order each color to order the material (and some extra yardage for future orders). We MAY offer a rush charge on them in 6 months or so... we'll have to see the public's reaction to the new lines first.

Really, really nice site. I can get around it without guessing where to go. Wow, what a large range of fabrics!

Well durn it if I don't keep coming up with more questions. The ladies' kilted skirts and mini-kilts---will they be available in the solid wool, tweed and solid PV as well?

Ummm... not right now. We're going to see how the Men's stuff moves in the solids first, then we may do it for the women later, but not in the immediate future.

Just to clarify one thing (since I got a PM asking the question)... WE make the Solid kilts (both PV and Wool / Tweed ones) here at our shop. We do NOT make the jackets and vests... we leave that to the good people of Scotland (we just tell them what we need and they make it).
