Now this actually makes sense. At our kilt night last thursday it was -20C (-4F) I was going outside for my smokes in my wool swk, hose and sweater. My knees felt a bit of a chill but all the other smokers were shivering, not me. At work I wear jeans and outside my whole lower body is cold. Thin cotton denim is no match to the cold and wind as compared to two & three thicknesses of wool.

I went kilted in Germany about this time last year, not a problem at -10C because of the low humidity.

Friday in New Orleans it was 50F/10C and windy, it was coolish because of the wind chill and the high humidity. It just sucks the heat right out of you.

You know a few weeks ago we had our first real storm, well my car picked that day to die, and I picked that day to wear my kilt and my new PC jacket and vest, well being stranded at the side of the highway for over an hour in a snowstorm was never warmer, the only thing that was cold was my feet.
