I think it's a grand idea. When I finally do get to travel to Scotland, I will be following the advice I've pieced together from the Off Topic forum anyway...

It's been a bit since I've updated you on this idea. The reason I've not reported anything is because there is nothing to report. The idea has stalled to a complete stand-still. When (If?!?) I learn anything else, I will report it here.

I think it would be a good idea to have a Visit Scotland section, for threads on that subject, similar to the Celtic Music section. I've replied to numerous enquiries about visiting Scotland, and it usually seems to be the case that the enquirer hadn't found any previous related threads which might have answered at least some of the questions now being asked.

We do need that (for those of us across the pond) I'm literally saving up money for such a trip. However, the rate of saving is not that great, so it may take a while, but side notes would be great, so I can plan to get to see as much as I can when there. It would be neat to meet up with a couple of you over their if we can!

The wedding we were invited to gave us a bit of a hurry up and motivation to get things underway. Till now our plans were vague to say the least, other than the wedding on 21/4 there was nothing in place. Yesterday we finally made some bookings(unusual for us normally), There's a folk festival on the Isle of Mull which gives us a good reason to go there, accomodation booked, we can head down to Iona while we're there. And the Gourock Highland Games which is the only one we can find that's on before we leave. Now we get to fill in the gaps.
