Welcome aboard from another MacDonell of Glengarry descendant.
It's obvious that you're going to be an enthusiastic kiltie! Hey.....I need a haircut...I wonder how long it would take to get to Chesapeake? (and what days does that gorgeous lassie work?? )
Here's a photo I took (last December) of our old home place...Invergarry Castle, home of the Glengarry MacDonells. It's a bit of a fixer-upper and as you can see it's in the process of being stabilized after being blown up back in the 1700's. (click the pic)

funny!
hilarious, that "lassie" works tuesday-saturday.. I actually have a client that drives us from Raleigh/Durham every 4 weeks or so! Not unheard of. She (and many of my other stylists) are sure nice to look at during those haircuts (unless you actually want a haircut by one of them!)..
Awesome looking castle - Thanks for the welcoming, great to find another USA Donald (and even a Glengarry!). Stay in touch for sure.. let's chat.

Great kilt! You already know how to wear it well.

Thanks kindly for the kind words, Ron. The Henderson kilt in my photo album (there are two.) I assume you are asking about the Henderson "weathered" kilt? It's the brown one, whereas the other (ancient) is green based. Anyhow, I had that kilt custom sewn for me by Mr. Matt Newsome. It's a 4 yard box pleat made from 16 oz. Strome wool from Lochcarron. It's my pride and joy. Glad you like it so much. If you're willing to wait a few months and spend a few hundred, you just can't go wrong with one of his kilts. Feel free to add me on any of the Messenger clients up in the right corner of this frame (if you use any of those.)

Ya know Ron Paul, boxers are an option..more freedom. That's what I wear under my kilt at work...just in case of accidental exposure. But WOW...if I worked with that lovely lassie...well....okay....fine...
And, my favorite option to a sporran is a vest with tartan kilts. Of course a UK Workman's give you all the pockets. Still say a black Utilikilts Workmans would be perfect for your work. But that's me.
And, my lady drives 100 miles to get her hair done every month....of course there are no hair stylists on the Hopi reservation.

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."

Looking good, RonPaul. You're a natural. You look like a pretty tall guy, are you sure that a Stillwater won't fit?
Best regards,

not sure
this Sport Kilt is 22.5" (I'm 6'1"), and it's still a little higher worn than I actually would prefer (for daily "fashion" type of wear) in order to keep it mid knee. I see on the Stillwater site they are like 24 and 25"!! I'd have to wear it near my adams apple!

I was 5'10"...have shrunk about an inch to 5'9". SWKs fit me perfectly, so I wouldn't think you'd have any problem with them. ??? A bit long is better than a bit short, unless you're going for a hike out on the heather.

You can try it for the cost of shipping. Jerry will take a return as long as the basting stitches are left in. It's a cheap way of determining whether a source of inexpensive kilts of good quality will work for you.
