I was going to say, see what it looks like if you loose the tie and jacket. If it's a semi casual/formal event you'll still look dressy, but not overstated. The way I look at it is, the kilt in itself is enough to draw attention to you as "dressed" if you'll excuse the pun and if you're in full gear, you may just look way too out of place. Just my opinion as I live in a somewhat redneck town myself.

The others have said it all, but you look great in that combination.

You look really sharp. Ditto the tie knot and location of the flashes. The forward line of the flashes should almost reach your tibia. And--forgive my very conservative, old geezer's idea here--a tight, well-centered knot is a pet peeve for me. It should look like the collar points and knot fit perfectly.
Also, the idea for maroon colors or a green tie would work well, too.
Keep the belt unless you go with a vest.
Overall, any of us would be proud of the outfit. Knock 'em dead.

Looks fine. As has been said, maybe a formal or semi-formal sporran, & perhaps a bit of colour in the tie. Not neccessary though, you look sharp enough to me.

Sean,
The outfit looks great. There are things you could do, but aren't a neccesary. These suggestions would just be the beginning of many endless possibilities that you will at some time try. Your Tie; is it black, or just look black on my moniter? You could go with green too. Oatmeal colored hose would look great too, and would match your shirt nicely. If you wanted to really kick it up a notch, I'd suggest a white shirt, with the black tie, and black hose. Of course, for the wedding, as you've implied may be quite casual, the outfit you've modelled will be perfect.
Good Job!

Looks good, the Tartan Police can get too fussy if you let them. There are minor details they see that no-one else will. And the others will find amazing things and legends to question you with.
Relax, and practice wearing it. Basics are learning to sit, the weight and location of the sporran helps here, and to tie your laces. Surprising how scary that can be to people behind you. Was at a formal restaurant last night and suddenly learned about sitting into an armchairs in tight spaces. Thankfully, I saw that one coming. Get advice from the missus.

Sean,
You look terrific. You could wear this outfit at any hour of the day or night, just fix up the details as we know you intend to do.
If it were an evening wedding, you could substitute a black bow tie---preferably a real one that you tie yourself ---and the Agyll would take you right to formal status. But that is not necessary. With the necktie, it's equivalent to a business suit, and that is "proper" for any black-tie occasion.
You can play with a different colored tie, white shirt, and so on. All would be fine, but you're just fine as you have begun. Well done!
