You look great in the kilt. Seems like I might have to give Frugal Corner a try!

That's the Clergy Tartan? Nice! The kilt looks good on you, and this review is helpful.

I'm gonna have to order a yard of that material for a stole for my pastor..

Thanks everyone, for the compliments and all. I tried not to leave anything out, but I'm sure I missed a few things. I was hoping to post a nice fair detailed review. I figure its better for everyone if they know exactly what to expect when they order. That way you don't have unhappy customers expecting more. Or the retailer getting bad mouthed an nitpicked about it. Kilt sales go up, everyones boys are well air conditioned. Of course that makes us all very happy. Peoples attitude in general change for the better. The girls really like it too, so we end up out breeding the pants wearers. And finally us kilt wearers take over the world!!! *evil laugh* Wait, I got a little carried away there.

Billmcc, yeah, I was going to mention that the right side was tapered but not the left, I think I forgot to put it in the reveiw though.

Chris, Thanks for the advise on the shirt. I'll have to look into that.

Angus of Stewart, it one of their stock kilts. For the extra couple of bucks I may look into getting one of thier custome ones next time around.

Rampant Lion, yeah, it kinda looks like that. the pleating is kinda funky really. If you look closely at it, they have it strarted pleated to set, then it jumps off and starts over from a new line. The overall look from the back at a distance definately looks more like they pleated to strip. The one line two line thing is definately there, but its not the same lines accross the set. So, every where where theres a double line, its a diffrent double line from the one before it, same with the white. Im not sure if they pleated it single, double, single, double on purpose or if it just happened because this tartan is full of white lines. Over all it looks nices. and it has more of a pleated to strip look like you were saying. But its a little unconventional. But it does look good, kinda unique.

Alan H, Yeah, Clergy or Clark or whatever. Im not sure if theres a set diffrence in the two, or its just up to the mill when they make the thing. I think I saw posted in here that the Clark take on it "usually" has white lines and the Clergy "usually" has gray. But I think the general view is the two are kinda interchangable, is that how it works tartan guys?

My clergy tartan from Frugal corner is also a great buy. Good fit and nice weight. Looks stunning.
Only criticism (still), is the slow delivery time and awful communication. Still have no idea when the rest of my order will arrive (from July 8th). They apologise for not answering email/phone etc. or not promptly returning calls-but still no improvement. Pity, as their product is good.

I recently purchased one also ( Actually last Tuesday Night ) it now been a week since i ordered it. I left a message on Tuesday morning, One of the Marks called me back on Tuesday night. I ordered it after i hung up with Mark. Now its been a week and no kilt yet ( Jonesing is gettting bad!!!!!! ) I did order a Clark/Clergy. So if this one is to my liking I will be ordering more.

I have sent some friends the link to order a kilt (they are newbies), but they want to wait to see what i get, the customer service, and the delivery time.

They were very happy with their Stillwater Kilts, and the delivery time.

Now I have to get them to join Xmarks......

I'm ordering another Stillwater on Friday. My next kilt after that will be a Frugal Corner.

Good luck! I emailed ( and phoned) their "Customer Service"(?) on Monday morning, Left another meassage today; It's now Tuesday night, and still no response. My order was placed July 8th, I received one kilt, but not the other, or the belt.

I have no doubt I will get them eventually, but what is really frustrating is being ignored. At least they could answer my enquiry/return my calls, tell me how much longer it will take, or why the delay, or maybe I could choose another tartan and get my 'Pride of Scotland' from elswhere (should've done that in the first place I guess).
Not too confidence-building for future orders, I'm afraid. I'm quickly losing confidence in this company.

Sorry, but I have had all good dealing with Frugal Corner. I now have (4) 16oz. kilts, Hunting Stewart,Clark/Cergy, Pride of Scotland and Scottish National (1) 13oz. kilt, Wallace and (2) sporrans Long Hair and Fur Formal. Also I just placed an order for (20) custom wove and made kilts for my band, one of those being mine.

Here is a pic of what I wore tonight at a Masonic Lodge meeting.
It my new Clark/Cergy that arrived on Saturday.

    Mexpiper,

That's what you have to look forward too...

    Playing Catch up

Mark B was away to a funeral and I was doing the Irish fair fri-sun..i was/am way behind on calls..I had so many voice mails that my phone stopped accepting messages.

email is sales@thefrugalcorner and I usually get to that everyday.

Mark b sent out 12 packages yesterday... on shipping best bet is to call him and see where you order is at.. we were shorted a few kilts in the last order... and received some stuff in place of some other things..

as always if things are taking to long we will always be willing to issue a refund... some delay is just growing pains and other is slow deliver from our vendor... Mark B is very good at getting orders out once they are received by us

I would tell you to PM me here but this feature has been turned off for us
