oops! I probably shoulda started this thread in there. Maybe a mod should move it?

Panache....you're liking the look of the yellow too eh? Great minds think alike...or something like that anyway *rolls eyes*
I was just thinking that pleated to the white stripe might just be tooo much white, but I'm hoping that at least the yellow is enough of a vertical element to avoid what Rocky refers to as "lawnchair butt."

Correction, X Marks products have their own announcements. There is no Forum available for discussion of such products, just updates about Xmarks branded stuff.

Jonesing for a Xmarks shirt like the one pictured HERE.
Just haven't heard anything since it's initial posting on 5/31.

I'll post on the suggestions board about making an Xmarks Tartan discussion area under DIY

I can sympathize Cloves, I have been looking at the pictures for the past few days trying to figure out how I want my kilt pleated. If I keep this up I am going to end up waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat screaming pleated to the line NO the sept!

    I got my tartan TODAY!!!!!!!

I also got some of the smaller patches, one of which is now on a ballcap that is a close comparison to the purple-ish/gray/navy. I'll post a pic later.

I can say that they are ALL EXCELLENT quality!

Using my "old" 13 oz stuff, I did:

(It REALLY needs to be washed and re-pleated. It HAS taken QUITE a beating, inc. SEVERAL heavy rain storms and LONG drives-> a couple at the same time. Of course, that WAS the plan for that kilt. I'll say that F&K makes good material.)

I box pleated to the wide blue and a double sett (at Newsome's suggestion). The INITIAL plan was to box pleat to the yellow stripe in the 16 oz stuff. However, I LOVE it to white SO much, I just might to do it again.

I have at least 2 kilts I HAVE to make first, so I have some time to decide.

What do you think knife pleated to the yellow would look like? I think to the white is a bit too bold, to the gray is mellow.... You think the yellow would "sorta" look military??

I'm hoping to have mine pleated to the yellow stripe.

    Cheers

After measuring, the full blue box on the 16 oz stuff is 4.5 inches, too wide for a wide box pleat (for me), SO it will be to the yellow (about 2 1/4 inches) for the 16 oz. kilt (I think).

(This stuff is just a tiny bit wider than the 13 oz.)
