I'm up for going out to dinner afterwards. The dinner actually at the site is nice, and Michael and Co. did a good job last year, but after being outside all day long I think I'd like to go sit down and chow down in a restaurant this year.
Any suggestions?
BTW, my friend Victoria and her son will be there, so don't give way all my secrets, OK?

Not very Scottish, but ABC Chinese in Scotts Valley is pretty reasonable and good fare (not to mention close). I think we would be up to dinner afterward.
Of course there are many cool possibilities if we head down the road to Santa Cruz!

Oh, Lord, I'd totally forgotten the Trout Farm...
http://www.metroactive.com/papers/cr...ning-0122.html
I went there as a kid...Le'ts go to the Trout Farm!!!! $10-$15 a head for dinner.
As for X-Marks Clan Tents...no can do. We've been over that road already on this board. However, if a tent happens to appear, and people hang out at it that happen to participate at X-marks, no harm done. But we can't "officially" represent X Marks the Scot.

Dinner after the games (incl. my tent striking duties) sounds good to me.
But I have to ask... What do the trout raise on their farm?

Welcome aboard the forum! Are you close by the SF Bay Area or the games venue in Felton?

OK, OK....turns out that Casey DID get the Clan MacNaughton tesnt stuff from Gene and Ruth, but the e-mails went awry. I'm making panic'ced last-minute phone calls to see if we can get a space for the tent at the 9th hour. I should know later this morning and will uupdate this thread.

OK, we have a MacNaughton tent!
It should be in slot 52-55 or thereabouts. Linda at LLCS tells me that is over by the Heavy Athletics and the food vendors. We will be a little bit off by ourselves with 4-6 other clans, but that's OK. Note that last year we were in slot 42, so it won't be in the same place.
Casey has all the tent stuff, but I'm in a bind. Because of the communications glitch, I committed to setting up the Heavy Athletics equipment, so I might not be able to spend much time helping Casey with the Clan tent...I just don't know. So any X-Markers who happen to want to arrive early (say 8:15 AM) or so and help Casey with set-up, the first beer is on Me!
Looking forward to seeing everybody there on Saturday!

I don't know how early the ticket booth is open, but I should be able to get a ride in early with w2f and help Casey set up. (Sadly I haven't even ordered my MacNaughton kilt yet).
Cheers
