I know it probably goes against the grain but I happen to think that this shirt goes well with the Maple Leaf tartan although I probably looks more different under flash than it actually is.
Here is another pic of the three of us.

Another nice pic and I quite like the check and the tartan. You do see old pics of different tartans mixed and matched. Mind you, I always check with Jane (wife) or Bekah (daughter) before venturing out in something besides the usual. I have had my striped shirts get a thumbs down!

I am so glad YOU asked that question, Andy. You're a braver man than I am!!!!!
Oh, and yes, great photos Derek et al ! You have probably taken me to what, maybe five or six of your 'locals', but none of those featured in this thread - I have never known an area with so many! They are a bit few-and-far-between in my neck of the proverbials.

I too have been avoiding asking about the check shirt with tartan - I did how-ever show my wife the flic, so that she won't hit the roof, the next time that I want to wear one of my Hawaiian prints with tartan........
The thing I noticed too, was that it appears to be a weatern "cowboy" style shirt?

Well Hamish there can be good exceptions to the rules
