Thanks!
As I would expect there are quite a few camera aficionados on the forum. Right, a sub forum may be in order with all the photos we take. I appreciate your postings to this thread and your excellent advice and suggestions. Thanks!

Hey Mael,
I dug out my tripod, its a Velbon VE-3
Apparently they're still around. Had this one for over 20 years with no problems.

I have a small Vanguard VS41, which is flexible and fitts in my sporran. There always seems to be something to attach to.
If this is to be believed, they are available for 1 penny.
There is also the Joby GP1-OBEN which is a little bigger (it won't fit in the sporran) which is also nice.

I would enjoy a kilted photographer sub-forum. I have recently got back into photography, buying a Canon Rebel Xti, along with a 75-300 lens. I love the setup.

Good idea, I think.
I have been into photography for 50 years! 10 times the years I have been wearing kilts. Two Voigtländers, one Minolta SLR, two fantastic Rolleiflexes (twin lens), and for the last 32 years Nikon gear, analogue and now digital - even if I still have my good old F3 HP with motor drive - an amazing camera.
Wonderful days, it was, when I had a dark room and spent a lot of evenings together with our son who had also photography as a hobby. The orange light and the smell of developer and the other fluids – I don’t remember what they are called in English.
Well, digital is not bad, either, just different – and much better than the "last days" of analogue photography where you could get a lot of coloured prints for almost nothing. And there you really got what you paid for, no more.
Like John said, black and white have become inferior. But colours certainly are better – and much easier.

I haven't used Ilford since my darkroom days. I miss those days. I've been using Adobe Photoshop and some times night vision for create my black and white. I've changed primarily due to available resources. Can't seem to find dark rooms like I use to - with traveling and all.
Ilford and Fujica use to be among my standards. - along with my Spotmatic Fs and F3s. Sure miss those days.

Be nice. Most of us I believe had a hankering to go 4X5 at some time. I did take a hard look at Rollei twin Lens Reflex myself - too costly though.
