Looks like you hit the pattern spot on, Joe. Did you do the round braiding yourself too? If so, what size and type of lace?
Turpin
I got the round braid from here

I've been planning on getting this book just for the sporran pattern, but I notice that Amazon has two copies listed:
So You're Going to Wear the Kilt: Handyguide to Wearing Scottish National Dress
AND
So You're Going to Wear the Kilt! - All You Want to Know about Tartan Dress
Is there one which has the pattern and one which doesn't?

Nice job you've made of the sporan. I never cease to be amazed at the talent some of you folks have.
This thread reminded me of Rob Roy's sporan kept in the National Museum here in Edinburgh. It wasn't actually his but Sir Walter Scott was impressed with it and wrote it into his novel about Rob Roy - I advise no man to attempt opening the sporran till he has my secret, said Rob Roy
This, said he, touching the pistol This is the keeper of my privy purse. from Rob Roy by Sir Walter Scott, 1818.

This is just the cantle, of course, but how about that for a sporan project.
