Two straps on the right apron and also note the triple fringe - this is only the third supplier I have found that does this - the others being Hector Russell and Celtic Craft Centre.

All I need to do now is to try it on! Certainly my initial impressions are favourable!

Wow! Obviously they are in stock and ready to ship. What is your impression of the kilt? it looks as thought the inside of the pleats has not been cut out, is that the case?

My impression of the kilt is very favourable and I have now dug my tripod out so I could take some pictures of me wearing it. I am not sure what you mean about the "inside of the pleats not being cut out" - the pleats are pretty normal and I can verify that they swish nicely!
The only problem I really have with it is the nomenclature of the tartan which is marketed as a MacMillan with various other bits like "black", "hunting" modern" tacked on when it has not been recognised by the Clan Chief. That is the case with various suppliers offering this sett who may well be unaware that this is the case. If it is registered at the STA at all it is certainly not there as a MacMillan.
If their other off the peg tartans are of the same quality then they are extremely good value for money.

McClef, Chef is asking whether the pleats have been cut out above the fell. (i.e. under the lining.)

It looks impressive for the price, I'm considering the IoS.
I noticed you bought a 38. I'm curious as to how you find the fit. If you don't mind can I ask your actual waist measurement and how the kilt fits. Are the buckles on the smallest or largest hole (or somewhere in between)? Also how is the rise compared to your other traditional kilts?
Hurry up get those pics of you in the kilt posted.

I recieved word back via e-mail from this vendor yesterday.
They report shipping would be 40 pounds (make that ~$80), UPS.
So, with the 110 pounds + 40 to ship... 150 pounds, about $300 US dollars.
.
They also told me the Duke of Fife tartan was 13 oz from Locharron.
I don't see that tartan in Locharron's line-up, but I always have at House of Edgar.
Maybe they don't know their details well?
.
Anyway, glad to see you got your kilt so fast McClef.
Looking for pictures of you wearing it soon!

My actual waist measurement as measured at St Kilda last October is 38.5" and being off the peg and the next size up being 40" I opted for the 38". The kilt fits very well and the left buckle is on the second hole from the outward end - I can still get my hand inside if I need to so could tighten it another notch. The 24" length puts the rise slightly above the navel and my other kilts (some 24" some 23.5") produce the same variation. I tried to get some shots using my tripod but wasn't happy with the results from the flash lighting and I had put my belt on askew! Hopefully get some better pics tomorrow!

Well we know the tartan isn't really a MacMillan! Perhaps I should ask them who the weaver was. The weight appears to be 13 or 14 oz.
But certainly I cannot knock the quality nor the speed of the service!
Hopefully pictures of me in it in the morning!

The weather was too atrocious for outdoor shots and then there was the Rugby (an excellent win for Wales!) so hopefully some photos tomorrow.
I have been wearing the kilt all day and am still comfortable!
