That's really beautiful! And yeah, that's a big sett. I like it, very muted and subtle.

Pics in the Sun and wind
Here's a couple more pics, these in the sun to show the colors of the tartan better. Windy day so some pleat movement...and front shot is rumpled from a day of sitting at work and forgetting to fix it...

Man, that's a great kilt... again. I'm guessing, by the large sett, it's Lochcarron's Strome weight. My weathered Henderson has the large sett like that, and is Lochcarron's strome. And, way-to-go on the Antartic. That's a FANTASTIC choice. Weight does that tartan come in? I ventured to your link, but see no mention.

Ron, congratulations to you and to Kathy on one truly beautiful kilt. I am a total sucker for weathered colours and that one is a winner!
Take care,
Ham.

Dalgliesh makes the Antarctica tartan...I "think" it was a 14 ounce. The lady in charge was going on holiday and was nice enough to email me to say she'd be gone and get back to me when she got back. Hasn't happened yet....gotta find her email and maybe double check.
And yup, the Macd of the Isles Weathered Hunting is a 16 ounce Lochcarron Strome.
The sett is asymetrical 8 1/2" horizontally and 9 1/4" vertically. Kathy didn't fuss about it, just figured it out and did it. Never would have known if I didn't get curious.
