Cindre went from the arms of love to the Arms of Love. She will be greatly deservedly missed. My condolences on your family's loss.

You have my condolences. Pets truly become a part of our lives, families and hearts.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I had to put a great dog down one time. I sat in the car and cried like a baby for 30 minutes. I was 49.
My sincere sympathy and condolences.

My Condolences.
Losing a pet is very hard and indeed is losing a family member. Your daughter on vacation will understand. When I was a teenager, my cat died while I was away on vacation. My parents didn't tell me until I got back a month later. It's hard but at least she'll have the memories of your dog in better times. It should be that way for everyone.

Thank You, THANK YOU ALL for your kind words. My daughter returned from her trip and was devastated. She blamed the fact that she was gone as the reason Cindre died. She had a difficult time coming to terms.
Then I showed her this thread, and all of the comments from all of you. After reading through the thread she was still suffering from the loss, but thankful that people she didn't even know were willing to give words of comfort to help us get through the grieving.
We looked through it again starting with the pictures (which I didn't show her to begin with) and she pointed out something that I had missed. In the first picture with Cindre by herself there is a black dot on her head.....that dot is a rock my nephew (in the second picture) put on her, and she sat there with that rock on her head until he took it off.
Thank you all again!!!

Here are some sites and another poem I found when my Nikita passed away in 2004.

You can create a virtual memorial to your lost pet at the last link. My Nikita rests there. I go to visit her often

I see people with dogs that aren't given much chance to become part of the family, you have just lost a lovely dog who had a happy life.
My condolences.

My condolences. I would like to get an Irish wolf hound but I know saying goodbye someday would just tear me apart.
