Welcome to XMTS from Victoria, B.C.! A kilt-wearing friend of mine from Victoria is currently working in Japan as a teacher; I'll try to find out where he is.

Kom-ban wa,
Nihongo wa hanase-masen but I should like to extend a warm welcome to you from England's south coast.
Watashi no namae wa Hamish dess. What's yours - we cannot keep calling you Sushi!!
You may already be aware of this but Scottish Country Dancing is very popular with the Japanese, and there are several groups/classes there affiliated to the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, and the men who attend are usually kilted.
Also, I'd echo Jock Scot's comment about being photographed by Japanese tourists. This has happened so often to me when in London, and in Edinburgh and, of all places, Bruges in Belgium!
Take care,
Ham.
