I was going to suggest a vest too, but if you do have it cut on the bias (tartan running diagonal instead of horiz/vertical). In a vest it looks better that way.

Good suggestion! My father and father-in-law each wore a tartan vest with a tux at my wedding, and it looked pretty good.
Oh, and welcome from Lowell!

I too would look at a tartan vest or cumberbund. Groomsmen could wear a cumberbund thats a solid color from a color in the tartan, the groom the tartan. I have also seen/worn kilt with tux, though the suit cut isnt quite right compared to a prince Charlie.

I would go with a tie or cummerbund, or possibly a Scottish thistle as a boutonniere. Congratulations on your upcoming marriage.

Wow. Thanks for all the info, guys! Not to mention the warm welcome.
Maybe I can convince the fiancee I should wear a kilt for the ceremony.

Welcome, from Inverness-shire. If I were you,I would not wear the plaid without the kilt. A tartan bow tie would do though with your tux, but best of all, wear the kilt!Have fun.
