As others have said, I'd try making an x-kilt first. There is no real "pattern" for a kilt--it is a uniquely tailored garment. Get a copy of The Art of Kiltmaking. One of the authors, Barb T is a member here. Reading "The Art of Kiltmaking" and downloading the X-kilt instructions will help you ALOT in learning how to construct a kilt.
