I remember an OLD issue of the Star Trek comic book (1970's) where Scotty was transported to Scotland, ca. 1650-1800?. Kilts and a rollicking adventure. Don't recall much else, as I was a kid.

I just read the first quadrilogy of a series by John Ringo called The Legacy of Aldenata. They are not Celtic as such, although the main characters are surnamed O'Neil; the interesting thing is that Franklin, NC figures prominently in the fourth book. This is a story of alien invasion, Franklin doesn't end well, rather like in DaveDove's recent story but more so; the town is actually leveled. No mention of Matt Newsome or his museum.
