I am a fan of corduroy with small or fine wales. I think that might make an attractive kilt suit if corduroy can be used to make a good knife pleated kilt.
I don't even have a traditional kilt yet, so that is all dreaming...

kilt suit
Hi to all - many thanks for the good links and recomendations. i Just got back form sea, got back into a kilt and checked out the forum. I'll spend some time surfing the links and saving my money - Should be able to get a suit by Christmas. The best of Samhain to you all.

Match the jacket, waistcoat and hose; leave the kilt as tartan; you've got a kilt suit... kind of...

I still can't get over how good Hamish looks in every last one of those suits! I love that tweed one...sorry the thread got somewhat hijacked but Hamish, it was worth it to see you smiling!

Gents - slightly off topic but I just posted a pic of my granddad and siblings (when he was quite young) in the pics of me gallery. Both Granddad and his older brother are wearing kilt ensembles (looks like an irish style solid colour kilt and vest jacket) that is the style of suit I would like to obtain at some point, though the 21st Century solid grey suits appeal to me.
PS. as my wife would say - great legs Hamish.
