Or the pound rises, relative to the dollar.

Just to be clear in what I was saying, it is the value of the pound that is falling against the dollar. Hence, the dollar buys more in the UK than it did a few weeks ago. And may buy even more in the near future.

(Things are even worse---or better, if you are American----in India. You can now get 48 Indian rupees for US $1. Just a couple of years ago it was about 33 rupees to the dollar. Skenes dhu and swords from Dehra Dun, anyone?)

Things may not be well with the US economy, but evidently it's worse elsewhere.
