    In total agreement with Jock Scot-- I don't understand all of the fuss about tartan ties, as long as they are all the same clan. If you are worried, a waistcoat will help, but whatever you do, don't make such a fuss about it that it puts your Dad off the idea of wearing the kilt.

    Congrats on the wedding. Do not fret over it, just be glad that he wants to sport the Kilt. As Ron has said, many old photos & paintings show mixtures of Tartans. Speaking as an "Auld" guy myself, he should be allowed his own likes.
