In my experience (taking full note, I use a view camera, which is not something you hang around your neck) people either back away, fearing the lens, or jump right in front.
AHHHH a fellow large formater!!

Hey cousin Glenn,
Me not worry...??? What a concept....I'm not sure I can wrap my mind around it.
Thanks for the tips guys. I do have a NativEarth big sporran/possibles bag/purse but its too narrow for the camera...had pondered that.
Maybe I can design, make, find a beaded or decorated bib to hang over the camera...
Or, as suggested...maybe just...ummm...gasp...forget it...naw...gotta be something...

Many years ago I took my trusty Minolta to a concert. I had cut down an old toy gun and mounted the camera and Flash to the stock. I used a pistol grip with cable. It had been raining that day, so I covered the rig with a jacket. On the rig I had mounted my 500 m lens and a 2x converter. Looooong lens woth a 4 inch barrel on gunstock. Guard at gate was local cop (off duty and unarmed.) When I removed the jacket, he about wet himself. By the time he patted himself down looking for a weapon to use on me, I had allayed his fears and told him it was a camera, not a bazooka. I scared him p**pless. Impressed a lot of people. Including the guy who stole my rig. Oh, well........

Hey Ron,
If you really wanted to make a production of this, you could get some sort of wood frame for the camera body and leather bellows for the lens and make it look sort-of Victorian? Then you could charge people for "period" pictures by the kilted photographer

Field, I have two, a Seneca Uno (which I had to modify to use modern 4x5 holders) and a Kodak Premo, which needs a replacement ground glass due to an accident. Will be using the Premo at my sisters wedding in 2.5 weeks, along with my Yashica Electro35. Wish they had Ektar 100 in 4x5 tho, I love the look of that stuff.
