Sorry it did not work out for you, but it sounds like you have made a good choice on this one. Sounds like you have the right attitude about the dating scene. I'm sure the right one will come along for you.

* sigh * Perhaps some day, far far off, I will attempt to date again... Or not...
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Well, I'm almost sorry that I suggested calling her first. It probably worked out for the best. Just don't close the door behind you.
I agree with Ron's suggestion. Post on some single forums. See if there are any single organizations or clubs in your area. Go kilted. When I was your age, I was a member of "Parents without Partners". A great organization to do things with other singles and not be with "anyone" till you want to.
Good luck

Isn't that the truth! I think you saved yourself a lot of trouble.

kilt on a date
I found from experience that women are attracted to men that show or display confidence in themselves. I have read that this is related to the "bad-boy syndrome". My wife has pretty much confirmed this as has a few close female friends. I think I would have gotten a lot more dates as a younger man if I had donned on the kilt more often. When I met my wife and told I wore kilts on occasion (I was still piping a great deal then), the first thing she asked was "Can I see you in it?". On our 4th or 5th date I showed up kilted....the rest is history. Now I am coming up on my 20th wedding anniversary and she still likes seeing me in a kilt. And yes...I still have a little "bad boy" in me....

I wouldn't wear the kilt - - - unless you want her to jump your bones on the first date!
