I'm in for 20$ for a local soldier.
Keep me posted on the locale and I'll be there.

We are all at different places at different time, so doing what you can is doing a lot. In addition, it is often small things done with caring that mean the most.
If you see abbreviations, initials or acronyms you do not know the Xmarks FAQ section on abbreviations may help.

Why not see about using some of the money (after kilt and sporran purchase) to get him a khaki shirt to which he can append his robbons and badges. For a military guy, that would look really sharp, espcially if we add in a nice khaki glengarry like Rogerson wears. (Go here http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/l...light=rogerson and scroll down.)
This guy deserves whatever we do for him to show our appreciation for his service.

hmmm
I know I am going out on a limb here, but maybe the local papers should be given a heads up?

I've been told that he graduated from Keller Central High School. Are we sure he's from Ft Worth?

His mom & dad live in far NE Fort Worth, practically HEB territory. All the news outlets have said Fort Worth. Hopefully the media have not hounded his family too much. I made a point of being very respectful/polite when I talked to his mom last night, and I hope nobody else bugs her/them.
I emailed the young man this morning, but since he is out in the fiield, it may be awhile before he gets back to Company Ops and can check his email.

Roger that - but first we gotta get Spec Boyd to agree and nail down a date. (see previous post)

Col. MacNeal,
If you'll get his shoe size, I'll make him a pair of hose. What color should they be? Khaki to match the shirt, or one of the colors in the tartan?

When given a choice, most people will choose.

Ahh, makes sense. I live up there as well, so the lines get skewed. I think I live in the Keller district, but I'm under Ft Worth city boundaries. Across the street is Hurst.

I work in Ft. Worth and do shows in the area all the time. I will do my best to make some contacts and come up with a venue if you like. I know some of these places would love to host this guy and the get together.
Can we pin down a specific date?
