I suspect that one reason that women don't understand the "comfort" of men's kilts, is because women lack the "twig and berries." Well, the women I know lack them.

perhaps I should order her one as well when I order my tank... Rocky doesn't have long skirts in PV, I haven't looked enough other places yet though.

    Silly wife too

So, during the 3 day weekend, as with all weekends, I was doing some work in the yard and came in to shower... when I got out and dried I put on a clean kilt, as apposed to the dirty sweaty one I just took off, with no shirt. I walked into the kitchen and the wife looked at me and said I wish I could run around like you...
Yea they do get kilt envy once in a while...

I decided to wear a kilt the entire 3 day weekend, and on day two she decided she wanted new shoes (she bought 2 pair?!?) so that she could wear a skirt to work on Tues. (today)

Its really funny, as we headed out Mon she asked why I was kilted instead of shorts, told her it was more comfortable. She laughed. A few hours later, she is talking to her sister, and she tells her that she wanted to wear a skirt for Tues because it is more comfortable. I had to give her a bit of grief.

Today, as she got home, I asked her if she enjoyed her freedom from the dreaded pants, and she exclaimed much she like having swish.

Really, I have known her for over 10 years, this is the first she has ever even thought to wear a skirt barring fancy events. And most of her reasons are the base kilt reasons.

I think she has kilt envy. I really wonder just what to expect from her over the summer.
How'd ya do it? I love seeing my fiancée in a skirt, but she only wears them to dress up, so usually it's pants or capris (shudder). Disappointing sometimes!

She doesn't wear capris, but I just kept wearing my kilt, wore it 3 days in a row over a holiday weekend. I think it just chipped away at her.

Same wife, same exact comment everytime she is with me kilted, to whoever is within earshot. Water off a duck's back to me, except when she absolutely "vetoes" the kilt for some occasions I would like to wear one to. Still trying to figure how to handle that one in the long run. Also complains I have more clothes and shoes than her, but then again I have to dress for work, sometimes at a different level on a different day, plus have leisure and activity specific clothing, where she stays at home and takes care of our son and home life. I too have part of a second closet just for the kilt stuff in a guest room, easier to keep it all organized, and out of sight for my wife's sake.

Tough having a wife who is less than optimally supportive of the kilt interest, but not totally intolerable, considering what else whe have together. And I was not kilted when we met or until a year or two after we got married, so I guess I have to be understanding as this is a controversial and unexpected change in me to her.

Under no conditions should a husband think of his wife as Shamu the Whale, but the key is to ignore the clothes on her you don't like and lavish praise for her when she wears those you do.

And perhaps learn about and invest in some top quality skirts and dresses for her. Wouldn't hurt.

    Regards,
    Rex.

Positive reinforcement works wonders on dogs and kids, so why not spouses? Hm... Maybe I need to employ this tactic.
