My guess is the dog will remain in the company of the Senator's widow.
Speaking as a native Bay Stater represented on Capitol Hill by Senator Kennedy for my entire lifetime, he will be sorely missed.

It's amazing how powerful he was on the political scene even in these last few years. He made a huge impact on the US. You won't see a politician like this again for a while.
