Unique, but a little too much for my taste. I do like the idea of the exterior of the kilts as one tartan and the interior of the pleats as another.

So, maybe a Crawford modern with Irish Saffron inside the pleats? Or maybe a nice deerskin, for my Native American heritage!
Think I will stick to just one tartan, but to each his own! Whimsical is good!

This just sounds like a mess to me. I can see doing the outer pleat in tartan, and then having the reveal be in a solid color, but we're talking about very busy patterns here, and I think that too many of them (in some cases two would be too many) is confusing to the eye.

LOL!
For our north American cousins, this comment comes from a BBC radio show where contestants, usually well-known comedians, make a set of random connections on a subject aiming to end up in Mornington Crescent, a street in the English capital.
With regards to the thread, it was getting a bit 'anoraky' as we'd say, but that's a whole 'nuther story!
Thanks for your forebearance of your old world cousins.

I've often thought about buying a bag of scraps to make a kilt to see what it might look like. I saw a Ralph Lauren jacket a few seasons ago made of (what looked like)scrap plaid material. They were in a really busy theme that year if I remember. Very light colors, so I'm thinking it was a spring line.
