Robert
You may want to send that PM to Alex as well, as he also goes to the Harpenden Games.

At any of the games you decide to attend, Lady Chrystel should do just fine. I love the lace jabot and cuffs set she made me.

Wow, thank you ! Those are sweet words !
The people offering Lady Chrystel the grant insisted on the fact that she must show her Double Box Pleated Kilts abroad (outside of France) and that they would speak for themselves...
All this is very exciting. Thank you for your encouragement.
Best,
Robert

Harpenden Games is the largest Scottish gathering in the densely populated English home counties, is very close to Luton airport and is always well attended, usually there are a few xmarkers there.
For a lively and thriving Scottish games with a truly international flavour North Berwick Games would be hard to beat. They are held on the second Saturday in August which is during the Edinburgh festival and as North Berwick is only twenty miles from Edinburgh, many of the festival's overseas visitors also attend the North Berwick games where they can see pipe bands from all over the world as visiting international bands compete against the local bands at North Berwick as a warm up for the World Pipe Band Championships which are always held in Glasgow the following week.
I'd love for you to come to my local Hawick Highland Games, we did not have any stalls selling kilts this year, and accommodation is cheaper, but in fairness I have to admit we are a sparsely populated area so our games do not have a large attendance.

In my opinion the Glengarry is the best option. Then again being a local boy and one of the many many volunteers I have to bak the Glengarry Highland games lol

I am sorry I missed this thread earlier, but Robert and I have exchanged PMs regarding the Harpenden Gathering, held annually in July just to the north of London. In 2010 it will be on Sunday 11th July. The attendances generally number around 10,000/12,000, and I have yet to see a kiltmaker selling (or taking orders) there, so this might suit Lady Chrystel very well. I am sure we could raise quite a few X-Markers to make a colourful group - we have done it before, several times!
Take care,
Ham.
