I like haggis, but I wouldn't tell 'em what it is until they try it. I have found that nearly all folks--except sissies who don't eat anything good anyway--like haggis once they've tried it.
But, for a sure winner, make Scotch Eggs. Much less trouble than real haggis, and everyone like Scotch eggs. I took some to the school where I used to teach, and the kids hurt themselves eating them.

No knock against shortbread at all! Just put it out because I thought of it already, and I already got some pretty grim looks mentioning haggis, so wanted to look into some other options, knowing little of Scottish cuisine. Some good suggestions so far!

You might want to meander to the off topic section and check out the Recipe thread. Lots of stuff there to make the tummy grumble with desire.

If you want something that needs no cooking on the spot, then Jock Scot has absolutely the right answer.
If you want to do some cooking before their very eyes, I'd suggest girdle (griddle) scones or pancakes. You can cook these in a frying pan and they are ready (and delicious) in a very few minutes. Add some good butter and a bit of Scottish raspberry jam. Mmmmm.

Wow you guys! Thanks for all the great suggestions. I work in a mental health center, so scotch will not work, but the salmon is a no brainer. I will have to peruse the recipes and select something. I love to cook, so making another selection would be fun.We have no kitchen, so on the spot cooking will be out, as well as due to time constraints. I'm liking the various soup/stew ideas. Could bring them in a crock-pot. Hmmmmmm.....

We have no kitchen in our office, so I use a crock pot for the soup I bring in and it works very well.
