There is an entertaining thread about D&D, nerdyness, and such here:
Weirdest response you've ever gotten when telling someone you play D&D
Mind you it's huge. But some of it is very funny. And occasionally it goes off the rails. So, nothing like threads in other forums then...
I will not reveal which of the posters in it is myself -- a +5 sword to anyone that can spot me.
Also, I refuse to answer any questions about my evasiveness...

All right, all right, all right, ALL RIGHT!!
I admit it.
My name's Kyle and I play AD&D.
Not that often, probably 3 or 4 times a year. I can quit when I want. I think.
But after seeing Arlen's link? Man, I'm ready to pretend to kill something!!

You know, I haven't actually played D&D since I was 14 (I'm now 26.)
I would absolutely love to play again, but I can't find anyone to play it with!
And yes, I squee'd. I can think of only one other thing I would go 'fanboy/girl' over.
Mostly I'm a very reserved and stern Regency-style Scottish Gentleman.

If you are looking for a D&D fix and you cannot find someone to play with, then I have just the group for you in Tempe, AZ. There is a guy that goes to my church and he meets once a week with his buddies. They tend to play all night long. I don't know how it is possible, but his wife is okay with the whole idea. I have never seen these guys in action, but I do know of their existence.

I used to play when I was 21-22. I also played the Star Wars game. Would enjoy playing again, great fun, especially with beer.

Oh I haven't even seen a 12 sided dice in a decade or more.
I dabbled but had the "no one to play with problem."
But, I now play World of Warcraft rather avidly... so I'll not be casting any stones at you Arlen.
