My first kilt was a bespoke from Scotweb that is an absolute joy to wear. Great looking, but heavy and formal. I backed it up with a casual kilt from USAK and have been very happy with it. Made a pilgrimage to Phoenixville to see his shoppe, and Rocky is a great guy, a gentleman and very helpful. My "bangin' around" kilt is a Sportkilt that is OK. I'll likely wear it when I finally follow through on my promise to myself to compete in the Games this Summer.

Here is my advice which I want you to remember is free. I started only six weeks ago with a an Amerikilt which was an impulse buy at the MD Irish Festival. The hook was seated through my lip. I now have five kilts. One of three that I recently received in trade was a Casual by USA. I review lots of tactical gear (nylon) for a living and have a pretty critical eye for construction. I applied it to the kilt and was very impressed. If a tartan is what you desire get one from Rocky. That said I am saving a few pennies to by my boy and I Nightstalkers from Stillwater.

I want a Tank but will be putting it off because of two things- one is that I am 20 degrees warmer than the rest of the world. I even sled in shorts so the kilt was a natural for me. The other thing is that I want to increase my collection of what I will call EDW (Every Day Wear) kilts because wearing any kilt makes me so damn happy.- George

I second the idea for Burnetts and struth. They are inexpensive, well made, and all wool.

    Much appreciated

Thanks for all of the help. I have had some time to look over a few things and have been able to come to a decision of sorts (a lot of other things are playing into this). Your comments have all been helpful and informative. I think I made the right choice when finding this forum.
