Rude to: or rude-not-to?

We ran into a situation at a highland games and I just didn't have the heart to tell this guy. It was his first kilt and was very proud of it telling us were he bought it from and what a great price he got on it. The only problem was it was a womens skirt.

You handled the situation as best as one could... and I would try to be the same.. discreet, and honest.... and if they accept your help, falls upon them.... as reminded by a good friend, this weekend... argueing with a fool, others have a hard time distinguishing who is who..

I rolled right up and said "Hey man, you've got your kilt on backwards."
To which he replied something to the effect of "Dude, (laughter) it doesn't matter!"

Well, to him, and anybody in their right mind who saw him, it probably wouldn't have mattered.

So...next time I see a bunch of you guys standing around, I'm going to stroll by with my kilt on backward, and when someone corrects me, I'll say..."I've been putting on weight recently, and the pleats are more comfortable over my front-butt." (look it up)

I actually had a conversation on this subject today. The lady I discussed it with is the one who did the correcting, many years ago. The gentleman she helped still to this day gives her a gift every year at the festival where the correcting happened. You did the right thing.
