Welcome! You know, you can buy Utilikilts in The Kilted Nation in Old Town. That would save the shipping, and the wait. You could just go there in person.
I live across the Potomac from you and I still haven't made it to TKN. I hope to make it the Ballyshaners Irish Festival next month (August 14th, which is a Saturday), which is held very close to their store location. I wonder, though, whether they will be at the festival or in the store? I went to the festival last year, but TKN were still in Manassas at that time, and hadn't moved to Alexandria.
I've just been looking at the TKN web page. Their blog doesn't have anything more recent than February 2010, but their events page says they are going to Comicon in New York in October 2010. Nothing about the Irish festival one block away in August! (Editted to add: Maybe they will just put up signs pointing to the store!)

I just visited TKN a couple weeks ago. It's a nice store. They didn't have much in the way of UK's - in my size anyway. In fact they informed me that they'll no longer be stocking UK's and I don't exactly remember why. I think they said that UK is letting go of some of it's dealers but don't quote me on that.
I checked out some Nation Kilts - not bad at all, but I'm really into the look of the UK so I went with that.
I really believe kilts, be they traditional or modern, casual or proper, are the absolute coolest clothes in the world. They're certainly inspiring me to lose that extra 10 lbs I've been holding on to.

Hi, Bruce, and welcome to XMTS from the bottom end of Africa.
That is a great picture – no wonder the kiltmakers put it on their website!
Regads,
