I'm not sure if I posted my axe pin but I know I never posted it after I repaired it.

I was carrying my heavy assortment of paintings and things in a case on a wheeled trolley down the front steps to walk to the Saturday market one time and at the bottom when I let the whole package onto the ground, it got caught on this kilt pin and it ripped off the back pin clasp part. I repaired it later using a thick metal wire and reforming the pin ... I like the look of the metal wire wrapped around holding the pin clasp onto the axe part.

They are nice aren't they. I was pipped at the post on one of those on ebay a while ago. I thought an auto-bid of 16 quid was probably enough to bag it but it transpired I was wrong.
They do turn up from time to time but you have to keep looking. Use "pewter dragon brooch" as your search string.

I suppose I'm late to the party, with this thread, but I thought I'd show a series of enameled autumn leaf pins I recently rounded up, to use (mainly) on my new "Leaf Peeper" tartan. Depending upon how windy it gets, I figure I can wear more than one at a time, mixing and matching appropriately to limit the apron blowing around.

As Ham so wisely teaches - we need a kilt pin for every kilt to avoid poking and repoking holes in the fabric.
That settles it, I am now going to order my Army tartan kilt. lol Where can I get the kilt pins that are military specific though? I though about getting the kilt and then getting the staybright pin on rank and maybe my 2 combat ribbions as pins. Where is the best place to get the Army Tartan kilt that is still good quality but wont kill my bank account. I might be the king of my castle but I only rule until the queen gets home lol.

I love the military pins as kilt pins idea. I am trying to find my AF rank pin and a decent AF logo to use as my kilt pin for my USAF kilt.
