Where you wear the Kilt - A Spin-off From "Kilted Anxiety"
A few days ago our own Cowher voiced concerns over anxiety not in WEARING the kilt itself, but getting out of the house.
Many of the suggestions started with going to where you know you'll feel comfortable being kilted.
In the spirit of that advice, I thought a thread on exactly where we all wear our kilts and feel comfortable, from select Scottish themed evenings to down-and-dirty pub crawls and everywhere in between, might serve as an aid to those who suffer from similar anxiety or who just need a shove out the door from time to time.
For me, I usually wear the kilt casually. In cooler months with a sweater to our local St. Andrew's meetings or pubs (hose up), in warmer months with a polo to the zoo with my son (shorter hose scrunched down).
I'd personally like to wear it more dressy (nice night out) but my wife doesn't like being "shown up"
I think I'll also start to wear it to more formal evening non-Scottish functions as well, as I really like the overall effect and feel vs my tux.
It is my goal in life to not have to wear trousers at all. I don't care if that means linen shorts in the sweltering summer heat or a kilt when temperatures allow. I have a great dislike for "pants" (both the UK and American meanings).
So, where do YOU love to wear your kilt?
