Fleece would certainly be comfy, but could be a bit bulky. And unless you keep the thermostat way down, it could get awfully hot. I keep a few fleece blankets on the couch for the chilly nights, and sometimes they are just too much. Early this spring on a chilly morning I wrapped a flannel sheet around myself and after about 5 minutes decided that by fall I might need to make myself a great kilt out of one just for around the house. Sort of a kilted "snuggie". When it gets real cold, pull the rest of it up around the shoulders. I love flannel in winter.

I also have one of those terry cloth bath wraps. Elastic waistband, velcro closure and a large pocket on the front "apron". Had it for about 15 years and love it. I've gained and lost upwards of 40 pounds since I had it and it always fit like a glove because of the elastic. (something to keep in mind maybe). Around the house I wear either that or my acrylic kilt almost every night.

I personally think you should go for it. I wear strange things out in public but I wouldn't wear a fleece kilt when out in town. With the hard-to-crease fleece (hey, that sort of rhymed. ), it might end up resembling a woman's skirt more than a man's kilt. But it sounds super-comfortable for just lounging-around in the house.

If I were to were a fleece kilt, I'm certain my fat kitty would sleep in my lap all the time.

Plus, it's washable and if it gets ruined, it's a fleece kilt. Who cares if it's screwed up? You could just make another one.

I decided it was probably better to just but a stillwater casual. But the more I think about it I am a huge DIY kind of guy. I have now decided to do a box pleated fleece kilt. I will start a thread with my drawings and ideas of design and make it a WIP thread. First I have to finish a pyrography that I am doing that has gone WAYYYYYY past the due date. Keep an eye out all who are curious.
