Always at the top of the knee or a fingers width above. Don't agree that Mr Thompson's book is outdated, some traditions are always in style. Don't care for the droopy look whether it is pants or kilts.

This sums it up for me.

    Re: Of Kilt Lenght(s)

Mine goes in the vicinity of my knees, I dont spend alot of time positioning it in relation to my knees. The way I figure it is by how it feels round my waist as to too high/low etc.

If I do feel the burning desire to check how long my kilt is hanging I just kneel on the floor, If my kilt is bunched up on the floor its too long.

    Re: Of Kilt Lenght(s)

I aim for the top of the kneecap but tolerate the middle of the knee cap, and unfortunately due to my "next of kin" (what I call my man-gut) after wearing one for a while it often slips a little further south requiring that I hike it back up to normal range again. So I guess I probably spend most of my time with my selvedge between the top and bottom of my kneecap.

I go for the top of the kneecap. If my kilt droops it gets uncomfortable behind my knee.

Top of the kneecap or slightly higher if I'm feeling jaunty

Ideally, I like mine at the top of the knee, but + or - an inch is OK with me.

Haven't I read that someplace before?
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Top of the knee for me as well... I don't mind showing off a little leg.

I am still new at this, but I have sage advisers. I feel most comfy with the kilt at the top of the knee or slightly above. My trusted adviser (my lovely wife) prefers some knee showing. Suits me.
