my screen name is also one of my internet domains. It's the north frisian translation for pipe smoker. North frisian isn't a german dialect, but a separate language.

My father raced motorcross and superbike professionally. He always had a big shamrock with his name on his helmet... He was amazingly fast, flying around all of the tracks he raced at. All of the other racers and commentators named him the flying shamrock. He then started my brother and I in the racing world, with our team name being flyingshamrock racing. So my brother and I are known as the new flying shamrocks. I'm not the original flying shamrock just a cheap knock off but a flying shamrock nonetheless.

'Creag Dhubh' means 'black rock' in Scottish Gaelic and is in reference to a geographical place of importance to the Clan Macpherson. Creag Dhubh is a craggy hill with a steep, dark rocky face, separating upper and lower Badenoch - the traditional lands of the Clan Macpherson. The war cry of my clan is 'Creag Dhubh Clann Chatain!' Meaning 'The Black Rock of Clan Chattan.' The Clan Macpherson is a prominent, leading clan within the great Clan Chattan Confederation.

    Cheers,

when first starting family almost 30 years ago....when wife first became with child we decided if it was a boy it would be named Jonathan Brock Herman and call him brock. Well I had two girls, three years apart instead.

My wife says I was paid back for past indiscretions involving females in my youth...so now I was going to have to live with guys like me wanting to date my daughters.

Never had the son...so first used it in early 1990s ...and rest is history. Kind of became my defacto nickname within circles of primitive archery, motorcycles, martial arts...usually just Brock but appears more common now so will add the 63 at end or Chief as the beginning (ChiefBrock) as needed. Plus my grand daughter calls me Chief! I am far too young at 48 to be called grandpa! LMMFAO

When I signed up on my very first forum waaaaaaaay back in 2001, a car forum, I chose this name, as I had been a Marine for about a year. Since then, I've used it on basically every forum I'm on, as I haven't thought of one that fits me as well.

    True Blue: adj.
    Loyal or faithful; staunch.

The color blue has often been connected to Police

A 4th generation Police Officer, I picked a name showing my dedication to my profession.

    Nice one Mac!

I just used the same handle I was using everywhere else. It's the place and year of my birth. Yeah, I know...so creative, eh?

In the past year I have started using one that my wife suggested--KiltedKurmudgeon. Maybe I should change it here too...
