My screen name reflects ownership of a first-generation Mazda RX-7, purchased 10/79 and sold just last year, 4/11, to the mechanic who had previously restored it for me. Alas, I was just not able to keep it on the road any more (mostly due to Calif smog regulations. . .). I currently drive a very nice 2010 Mazda3 5-door, but the 7 will always be "my car"! Here she is right after the restoration, with 300K miles on the clock.

My daily commuter - weather permitting. It's 22 miles from driveway to parking lot.

Rob.
P.S. It color coordinates very nicely with both my MacMillan Ancient and Gordon Red kilts -- but I haven't actually ridden it to work while kilted .

I have two cars. A silver one for running the family about in and going on hols and a blue one to get me to work and back (a 550 mile [880Km] round trip).
They are both diesel...
Really, you don't want to know. Suffice to say my mid life crisis is probably Kilts, not cars.

I've been trying to talk my wife into one of these for the weekends. So far, no dice.

I had a Honda Shadow Tourer before finding this beauty to replace it. My other "Summer Sleigh" is behind me in my avatar, copied below.

You can't see much of my PT Cruiser convertible. I should take another pic to show the back window graphic... filling the back window with Pooh Bear, and other stuffed animals.
I'm wearing the Clan Claus Society, "Claus of the North Pole" tartan. (STA ITI number 7869)

I'm sure liking the vehicles on this thread so far! Here is my brace of 2002 XJR's at the Jaguars On The Island show. The license plate is "LIVET".

Brings back memories. We had a brand-new 1983 Mini as the family car for a number of years, and during that time the missus and I also restored a crashed/rolled 997cc 1967 Mini Cooper (cornered like a squirrel in a drainpipe - the rubber suspension had softened and it felt like your butt was 6 inches off the road - which it was!)
Also used the 997cc Cooper for a holiday in the Rockies, towing a 4'x6' tent-trailer, with a 6 week-old baby, + rain, + mosquitoes, and the main crankshaft-seal leaking oil onto the clutch so our uphill pulling had a built-in governor... good times.

Some very nice (and no doubt speedy) wheels posted! But if they're too speedy, there's always my car to contend with:

Yes, it's unmarked but it's a Crown Victoria with a spotlight and 3 antennas so I don't think I'm fooling anyone!
No worries though as I'm probably likely to let a man in a kilt off with just a warning !
