Guess what? I don't care, I ordered this thing over Fromjapan. Unless you Americans ain't out of stock yet, I'll receive the Elkommando in about 2 weeks.
They can improve it next time. AFAIK the pockets are all sewn in which is pretty bad for cycling, cuz stuff moves with your legs.

Crypo, the pockets are attached close to the sew down line and only staked with a few stitches at the bottom of the pocket to one pleat edge. Since I ride bikes too, I took out the stakes and now the pockets free float. Seems better for walking too as I am not dragging the pocket junk around with my legs.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

Thanks tundramang. Is ist meant to be worn at the natural waist or jeans waist? I plan to wear it at the natural waist, which shouldn't be a problem I guess.

The intent that Mountain Hardwear has is for the backpacks hip strap to ride on your hips and the kilts waist band to be just above. Unless you wear low rise jeans this is close to jeans waist. The area from waist band down about 4 inches is a solid (non pleated) piece and is cut to form a conical shape keeping skin digging seams and wrinkles under the pack belt to a minimum.
I can't really answer your natural waist thing as I can't wear anything, kilts or the nasty effeminate zippery things at my natural waist.
Maybe someone without my issue has tried the EK up high?
I just realized your arrival should be real soon. I know I don't like a waist band at where I bend on the bike - It digs in.
My bike is a banana seat with the standard half ape hanger handle bar, Schwinn Grey Ghost 5 speed Sting-ray ( the 60s, 70s era Krate series style ). I don't bend over much on it.

The kilt is meant to be worn around the traditional jeans height. Since the waistband is very flat, even with the belt, it is great for hiking or backpacking. I have used mine on several hikes with 60 pound packs and wore it up to Camp Muir when climbing Mt Rainier. I would have worn it down but it I don't think it will work so well when Glessading. I have worn out the butt of some good climbing pants that way.
Right now, I am wearing one while roofing my house. It is much cooler up on the hot roof and easier to move around in than shorts.

Does traditional jeans height incorporates the natural waist? Arround the navel area would work for me, because there is my natural waist.

I finally got that thing. Due to the seamless tight fit, you can wear it on the natural waist. It is pretty light weight and wrinkles a lot. The craftsmanship is good, especially with the press studs. The adjustable belt assures a snug fit. I wonder if you could use a hand steamer on it.
