Welcome and excellent choice on the Armstrong tartan. I have an Armstrong tartan kilt pleated to sett and quite like it. I honestly hadn't considered pleating to the red stripe...maybe for my next one . Are you looking at the ancient or modern colour variations?

Gotta strongly agree with the "AVOID MIDDLEMEN" advice for kilt purchasing...no way to know who sewed the kilt, how they will sew the kilt (many variations - ask any kiltmaker), or when it will finally show up at your door and "hopefully" fit. Follow up with all the above suggested true kiltmakers, make a choice and enjoy the new kilt without hassles.
