I improved (in my opinion, anyway) upon my previous design. This time incorporating the X into the knotwork. Also I made the ropes a little thicker so the knotwork is tighter. (I have a lot of time at work where I have no classes, and thus nothing in particular to do.)

Please see "Version B" in my personal photo gallery.

It would still need some fine-tuning to make it more symmetrical, but I think it would make a good looking pin.

Graham- That was done in Photoshop.

Alaskan- I like your ideas (even though I think Plan B is a little phallic) but I am more prone to a symetrical looking pin.

Also I want something like no one else has so it sets us apart.

I will see if I can incorporate some knotwork into a few ideas...

There are 1,000's of swordlike kilt pins in the world. What I would like to see is something unique like the X. You can fancy it up if you like, but I prefer something more simple like Hank's concept.

Hank, how about this. Knock the crossbars off your X and make the circle knotwork instead of a solid circle.

Great ideas, all this in about 24hrs. I too was tongue in cheek about an international clan and tartan, and I know Hank has doubts, but look how much you've achieved in such a short time.
I'd be honoured to be in any clan with you chaps. WELL DONE.

I would have to agree with Bubba here.

I would like to suggest that we keep Hank's basic idea, and in the circle (which reminds me of a globe) put the suggestion that Alaskan had in regards to the clan motto, which with Bear's permission: Kilts are garments not costumes! And put the knot work in the crossbars. I have seen some wonderful knotwork in this discussion, Alaskan's freehand, Calico Jack's picture, and even from the picture that Graham showed us to start things off.

These are just my thoughts at this moment, I may have more later.

I think the knotwork on the circle would look better and might signify the Celtic world with the solid X signifying we're here solidly and for all time.

It would also show that Celtic is the background (the same as some of our members) , but not the foreground. Much like the kilt that has a Celtic background, but which has been brought in to the now by many non-Celts.
