Well met new friend. Here are a few photos of me in my US Army tartan utility kilt. It is a box pleat to the sett (my preference). It works well for me in casual or semi-formal setting. It is my go-to kilt.
Love the cap (beret?). Where'd you get it? Who made your utility kilt? What material & weight?
Welcome from Waco. I will echo John, and say you should come up to Salado Nov 14 and 15.
Thanks, BD. I will be in Salado. It's the weekend following my 67th birthday - one I share with the US Marines - Nov 10! (Note this is the day before Veteran's Day - always a holiday, so in my younger days I could drink as much as I wanted on my BD.)
I bought a kilt today, my first - a tan poly cotton from Things Celtic here in Austin. I wore it out of the store, on a couple errands and lunch; then later after pressing it I wore it to meet up with buddies for Monday Night Football. Nary a second glance on errands and lunch; a bunch of grief from my buddies.
I'm hooked.

Hello and welcome from Houston, TX. I will also be at Salado hosting in the Clan MacIntyre tent. Come by and say hello. We XMarkers traditionally have a group picture taken when we clump up at such events.

Nice kilt! Congrats on taking the plunge!
I bought my kilt at Things Celtic and they are a good bunch there.
