G,
I can't think of ONE kiltmaker on this site that thinks you're spending too much at all!
If you were in a band that wore kilts (gee, are there such groups?) it wouldn't be any problem at all. Your business is beginning to get recognized by you in your kilts. In my mind, you're able to use them as a "seperator" from other sign businesses... not that your incredible work doesn't do that already.
You wear them well, appreciate what you wear, and know that they're more than just clothes. All in all, you're WAY ahead of the guys that wear them once in a while to bars and Festivals.
$2000 is nothing for a wardrobe these days. You just choose to fill your closets with the best garments invented.
Arise. Kill. Eat.

Fictionally overheard in Tasmania:
"Hey! Look at that guy in a kilt!"
"That's just Graham, the local signmaker."
"Signmaker? I could use something for the shop window ..."
How many pairs of pants will a kilt outlast? There's value there.
And if you did go mad and give up kilts, you could re-sell them.

I ve had to stop at one kilt purchase, my handicap being that my wife does not want me to wear my kilt in public. however I have managed to put in an order for a pattern and will soon be making my own kilts (with probably a lot of her help) so theres light at the end of the tunnel yet. Cheers Andrew

I would have to be mad, but yes, they would sell OK

Graham,
I am a bit of an office jockey, but not if I can help it. As a detective, I get out as much as possible. But if I am talking to an offender, I want to focus on them/the crime and not my fashion.
Twenty years and three months until retirement and kilts full time...
Slainte,
Tobie

Value, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.
